This is a site design that came out of the Van Alen Institute Future Ground Competition. Set in New Orleans, Louisiana, my project took on the role as the Director of the Arts Council for New Orleans. I researched the Arts Council in New Orleans and made my site selection and design choices based on their criteria. The resulting site design is a public arts yard that maximizes flexibility. The site furniture consists of two elements, a bench and a wall. Both elements are changeable to fit the activities going on in the site. The versatility of the site furniture allows for countless activities to take place. In addition, the site acts as a pick up location for evacuating the city in case of natural disaster.
